Bill Rutledge was commissioned as a Notary Public in 2004 and opened his office in Nanaimo that year.  Prior to becoming a Notary Public, Bill worked as a Certified General Accountant holding senior positions with a number of companies in a variety of industries in British Columbia, Ontario and Florida.

IDENTIFICATION: We require 2 pieces of identification, at least one of which must be valid unexpired PICTURE identification, when witnessing signatures on any documents. BC DRIVER’S LICENSE COMBINED WITH BC HEALTH CARE CARD IS NOT CONSIDERED 2 PIECES.  NAME ON IDENTIFICATION MUST MATCH NAME ON DOCUMENTS.

 

SOCIAL INSURANCE NUMBER: For ALL real estate PURCHASERS/TRANSFERORS who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents, the Province of British Columbia requires that we obtain either:

1.     Social insurance card,

2.     T-4 showing complete social insurance number, or

3.     Canada Revenue Agency Notice of Assessment showing complete social insurance number. NOTICE OF ASSESSMENTS DOWNLOADED FROM SERVICE CANADA ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE AS THEY DO NOT SHOW COMPLETE SOCIAL INSURANCE NUMBER.
